Privacy Policy
Solyx Studios ("we," "us," or "our") operates FluentVoice, a voice journaling app with AI-powered communication coaching. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use FluentVoice.
Information We Collect
Audio Recordings
FluentVoice records audio through your device microphone when you create a voice journal entry. Audio is recorded only when you explicitly start a recording session.
Transcription and AI Analysis
When you save a journal entry, your audio is sent to our secure server for processing. Before any data is sent, we ask for your explicit consent within the app.
- Transcription: Your audio recording is sent to Groq, Inc. (via our Cloudflare Worker proxy) for speech-to-text transcription using the Whisper model. Audio is processed transiently and is not stored by Groq or by us after the transcript is returned.
- AI Coaching: Your transcribed text, recording duration, and selected focus areas are sent to Google LLC (Gemini) (via our Vercel AI Gateway) for communication coaching analysis — including filler word detection, pacing analysis, vocabulary suggestions, and other feedback. This data is not stored by Google or by us after the coaching response is returned.
We do not retain your audio, transcripts, or coaching results on our servers. All processing is transient — data passes through our server and is discarded immediately after the response is delivered to your device.
In-App Consent
Before any audio or text data is sent to Groq, Inc. or Google LLC, FluentVoice presents an in-app consent screen that clearly identifies what data is shared and with whom. You must provide explicit consent before the app sends any data to these third-party AI services. You can review our full data practices at any time from within the app.
Data Stored on Your Device and iCloud
FluentVoice stores the following data locally on your device and syncs it via Apple's iCloud (CloudKit):
- Journal entries (audio data, transcripts, AI coaching insights, timestamps)
- Your journaling preferences (goals, frequency, focus areas)
- Notification preferences (reminder times, streak nudge settings)
- Usage quota tracking (monthly recording count)
This data is stored in your private iCloud container. We cannot access, view, or read your private iCloud data. Apple manages the encryption and security of your iCloud data under their own privacy policy.
Subscription Information
FluentVoice uses RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat collects:
- Anonymous app user IDs (not linked to your personal identity)
- Purchase history and subscription status
- Basic device information (OS version, device type)
RevenueCat does not receive your audio, transcripts, or journal content. For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not require account creation or sign-in
- We do not collect your name, email address, or other personal identifiers
- We do not collect location data
- We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics SDKs
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising purposes
How We Use Your Information
- Transcription: Your audio is sent to Groq, Inc. to convert speech to text
- AI coaching: Your transcript, duration, and focus areas are sent to Google LLC (Gemini) to provide communication feedback
- Subscription management: To verify your subscription status and enforce free-tier usage limits via RevenueCat
- Local notifications: To send journal reminders and streak nudges (only if you enable them, processed entirely on-device)
How We Collect Your Information
- Audio: Captured via your device microphone only when you explicitly start a recording session
- Transcript and coaching data: Generated by sending your audio to Groq, Inc. and the resulting text to Google LLC (Gemini) through our server proxies
- Preferences: Collected through in-app selections during onboarding and in Settings
- Subscription data: Collected by RevenueCat through Apple's StoreKit framework when you subscribe
Data Retention
- On our servers: We do not store your audio, transcripts, or coaching results. All AI processing is transient — data is discarded immediately after the response is delivered.
- On Groq, Inc. servers: Audio is processed transiently and not retained after transcription.
- On Google LLC servers: Transcript data is processed transiently and not retained after analysis. We use the Gemini API which does not use your data for model training.
- On your device / iCloud: Your journal entries remain on your device and in your iCloud account until you delete them. You can delete individual entries from within the app.
- RevenueCat: Subscription data is retained per RevenueCat's data retention policy.
Third-Party Services
FluentVoice shares data with the following third-party services. Each service provides protection of your data as described in their respective privacy policies:

Children's Privacy
FluentVoice is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Your Rights
Since we do not collect personal information or maintain user accounts, there is no personal data for us to provide, modify, or delete on our end. Your journal data is stored in your private iCloud account, which you control entirely through Apple's iCloud settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
